At Silver Fern we believe in students wearing uniforms, as this is one important part in creating a positive environment at school. By having to wear a uniform we are able to create a positive environment and atmosphere of belonging. This sense of belonging can have a positive effect on a child’s attitude towards school. We see this in team sports, where the sense of pride and commitment comes from wearing the sports uniform. Research has also shown that all this can lead to better learning and improve attendance.
The Uniform Shop is open Monday – Friday 7.30 a.m. – 5.00 p.m. during term time and 9.00 a.m. – 4.00 p.m. during the school holidays.
Students are expected to arrive and leave school in a tidy fashion with all uniform correctly worn, including their shoes, hats and backpacks as shown in the examples on this page. With the sports uniform worn during the day at school the children must have predominantly white shoes.
Full guidelines for appropriate dress code can be found in our Policy: Behaviour Guidance – Primary.
